Overview

This site is owned and operated by GHG BUILDERS LLC (“GHG BUILDERS”, “we”, “us”). Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what information we collect through ghgbuilders.com, why we collect it, and what choices you have.

GHG BUILDERS is a residential design and construction firm. This website is a marketing and information site. We do not sell advertising on it, we do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not operate user accounts, forums, newsletters or online purchasing.

CATEGORIES OF INFORMATION WE COLLECT

In the twelve months preceding the date above, this site has collected two categories of personal information: (1) identifiers and contact details you submit yourself — first name, last name and email address — together with the content of your message; and (2) internet and network activity information collected automatically by our analytics services, such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring website and visit times. Each is described below.

We do not collect Social Security numbers, government identifiers, financial account details, payment card numbers, precise geolocation, biometric information, or any of the categories of sensitive personal information defined under California law through this website.

INFORMATION YOU GIVE US

The only information you actively give us through this site is what you choose to enter into our contact form: your first name, last name, email address and the content of your message.

We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry and to correspond with you about your project. Providing it is entirely voluntary — you can also simply call or email us instead.

INFORMATION COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY

Like most websites, we collect limited technical information automatically when you visit, in order to understand how the site is used and to improve it. We use two analytics services:

GOOGLE ANALYTICS

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic and understand which pages are useful. It collects information such as the pages you view, the approximate location derived from your IP address, your browser and device type, the referring website, and how long you spend on the site. This information is processed by Google. You can read Google’s practices at policies.google.com/privacy, and you can opt out across all sites using Google’s browser opt-out add-on.

STATCOUNTER

We use StatCounter to tally page views and traffic patterns. It collects similar technical information, such as IP address, browser type, referring page and visit times. You can read StatCounter’s practices and opt out at statcounter.com/about/legal.

We use this information in aggregate. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors from it, and we do not combine it with the information you submit through the contact form.

COOKIES

A cookie is a small text file placed in your browser. The analytics services described above set cookies to recognise returning visits and to compile usage statistics. A cookie cannot read data from your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites.

We do not use advertising cookies and we do not run retargeting or ad-tracking on this site.

You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings. The site will continue to work normally if you do; only our usage statistics are affected.

THIRD-PARTY CONTENT

Our contact page embeds a Google Map so you can find us. When that map loads, Google may receive your IP address and set cookies under its own privacy policy. If you follow a link from this site to another website, that site’s privacy policy governs — we have no control over the content or practices of sites we link to.

SHARING OF THE INFORMATION

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

We share information only with the service providers that make this site work — currently our website host, Google (Analytics and Maps) and StatCounter — and only to the extent needed for them to provide those services. We may also disclose information where required to comply with applicable law or valid legal process, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.

CHILDREN

Consistent with the Federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), we will never knowingly request or collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. This site is directed to adults considering a residential construction project.

SECURITY

This site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. GHG BUILDERS operates secure data networks protected by industry standard firewall and password protection systems. Our security and privacy practices are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary, and only authorised individuals have access to the information provided by our clients. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

RETENTION

We keep enquiries you send us for as long as needed to respond to you and to maintain a record of our correspondence. Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of the services described above.

YOUR CHOICES

You can choose not to submit the contact form; you can refuse cookies in your browser; and you can opt out of the analytics services using the links above. If you would like to know what information we hold about you, or would like it corrected or deleted, please email [email protected] and we will respond.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page and update the date above, so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it.

DO NOT TRACK

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) setting that signals to the websites you visit that you do not wish to be tracked. There is currently no industry or legal standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, and this site does not respond to them. The analytics services described above will continue to collect information as described whether or not a DNT signal is present. You can opt out of those services using the links above, or refuse cookies in your browser settings.

THIRD-PARTY TRACKING ACROSS SITES

The third-party services embedded in this site — Google (Analytics and Maps) and StatCounter — may collect information about your online activity over time and across other websites that use the same services. GHG BUILDERS does not authorise any third party to collect personal information through this site for that party’s own advertising purposes, and we do not run advertising, retargeting or ad-tracking on this site.

YOUR CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS

SHINE THE LIGHT

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information about a business’s disclosure of personal information to third parties for those third parties’ direct marketing purposes. GHG BUILDERS does not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. California residents may request confirmation of this by emailing [email protected].

REVIEWING AND CHANGING YOUR INFORMATION

If you have sent us an enquiry through this site and would like to review the information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, email [email protected]. We will respond to your request and may ask you to verify your identity before acting on it.
